BurnWise: Be Fire Safe The EPA's BurnWise program provides educational materials and resources to help people learn about the importance of burning safely. BurnWise materials cover a wide range of topics, including how to identify and avoid hazardous burn conditions, how to create a safe burn pile, and how to extinguish a burn completely. Here are a few of the resources available through the BurnWise program:

  • BurnWise Educational Materials: The EPA offers a variety of educational materials, including brochures, posters, and videos, that can be used to teach people about the importance of burning safely.

  • BurnWise Training: The EPA also offers BurnWise training workshops for firefighters, other first responders, and community leaders. These workshops teach participants about the BurnWise program and how to use BurnWise materials to teach others about safe burning practices.

  • BurnWise Website: The EPA's BurnWise website provides a wealth of information about safe burning, including burn bans, burn permits, and air quality information.

If you are interested in learning more about safe burning, I encourage you to visit the EPA's BurnWise website: https://www.epa.gov/burnwise Why is it important to burn safely? Burning can be a dangerous activity if not done safely. Uncontrolled fires can quickly spread and cause extensive damage to property and the environment. In addition, smoke from burning can contain harmful pollutants that can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, and can trigger asthma attacks in people with asthma. By following the safety guidelines provided by the BurnWise program, you can help to prevent fires and protect yourself, your property, and the environment.
